ThimbleCare help

Incidents

This guide is for a support worker using the native phone app. An incident log records your own account of a concern. Choose its visibility carefully. ThimbleCare does not report an incident to an authority for you.

If anyone is in immediate danger, call 000 first. Use the help contacts shown in the incident screen for other assistance.

Write a log

  1. Tap Add, then Log an incident, or open Incident logs and start a new log.
  2. Choose the category that best fits what happened. The app does not decide what your words mean for you.
  3. Choose the participant. Your worker log and the participant's own log are separate records.
  4. Enter when and where it happened, as far as you know.
  5. Answer whether anyone is still at risk. Read any urgent help or possible-reporting notice shown.
  6. Write what you saw and heard in Describe what happened.
  7. Choose who may read it: the private, participant-shared or compliance option shown. Read the explanation before selecting it.
  8. Submit and check the result.

Check what happened

A confirmed log is locked. You can add a separate dated update later; the original words stay unchanged. Opening a log or choosing a visibility option does not send a report to an external authority.

If the screen says the draft is saved on your phone, it is still a draft. If submission is queued, reconnect and check the log list. Neither status means an online submission is confirmed.

Use Save and close when that draft screen offers it. Some earlier triage screens still say saving for later is unavailable; do not assume every screen has saved your words.

If something goes wrong

  • We couldn't confirm whether this log saved. Open Incident logs before submitting again. The outcome may be uncertain.
  • No participant is available. Check the service relationship; do not attach the log to a different person.
  • You want to share or save a copy. Use the PDF action offered on the confirmed phone record. Check whether it was saved or shared. This still does not report it to an authority.
