Signing in with a password or email code

This guide is for a participant. You can sign in with the password you created when joining, or use an email link or code. Workers have a separate email-and-password sign-in. Nominees and supporters use their own accounts, not your email or code.

Before you start

Accept your worker's invitation first. See Accepting an invitation. Have access to the invited email address.

On the web

  1. Open participant Sign in at /auth/participant/login on the ThimbleCare web app.
  2. Enter Email address and Password, then select Sign in.
  3. If you prefer a link or do not have a password yet, select Use email sign-in instead, enter your email and select Email me a sign-in link.
  4. Check your inbox and junk folder. The page shows Check your email.
  5. Choose one method:
    • Open the newest sign-in link in the browser where you asked for it.
    • Select Enter the code instead, type the six digits from the newest email, then select Sign me in.
  6. Wait for sign-in to complete. Your account and role determine which screen opens next.

The screen says the sign-in works for one hour. A new request replaces the older link. A displayed request result does not prove that an email reached you.

On the native phone app

  1. On Welcome to ThimbleCare, tap Sign in.
  2. Choose Participant, nominee or supporter, use an emailed code.
  3. Enter your email and password, then tap Sign in. For a code instead, choose Use email sign-in instead, enter your email and tap Email me a code.
  4. Enter the latest code in Your 6-digit code.
  5. Tap Sign in with this code and wait for the result.

Use the code in the native app. A web email link may open a browser instead; do not assume it will complete native sign-in. While a request or check is running, wait before changing the email or asking for another code.

Keep signing in easy

On your own device, the app normally keeps you signed in when you switch apps or reopen it. If you enable biometric unlock, that lock still applies. Sign out when using a shared device.

On the web, open Settings → Security → Set a password to create or change your password. Email sign-in remains available if you forget it.

If something goes wrong

  • No email arrived. Check junk and the address you typed. When resend is available, ask for a new email.
  • The code was refused. Use all six digits from the newest email. Ask for a new code if it expired.
  • The link was already used. Use a new code or request a fresh sign-in email.
  • The wrong role opens. Sign out and use your own participant account. Do not create a worker account to work around it.
  • You want an SMS code. Text-message sign-in is unavailable. Adding a mobile number does not change that.
